Here is a link to an article written by Colin Jackson in his blog site which I think will resonate with many of you. Worth a read!
For those who were going to see this musical in June this year, it has been postponed again to September next year. We have therefore decided to cancel our bookings and get a full refund which will be passed on to applicants in due course.
The good news is that it is now coming to The Kings Glasgow in January next year and we will try to book tickets for it then. Look out for the usual MailChimp flyer with an application if you want to go.
This has now been booked for Friday 21st January 2022 at the 2.30pm matinee.
I would like to draw your attention to a new blog created by the originator of this web site, Colin Jackson. It will have light hearted recollections from around the world as to what it was like growing up / living through the late ’60s /’70s. It is something we will all have, mostly, fond memories of. The music, the films and tv shows and how we enjoyed ourselves. Have a look. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
There is also a Facebook group – Once Upon a Time in the 70s – which you may wish to join.
It is with great regret that I have to advise that our Treasurer, Jim Carson, passed away on 26th August after a short illness.
Jim’s funeral will be at Daldowie Crematorium on Friday 4th September at 1 pm. This will be a private family funeral but it can be viewed at http://www.obitus.com using a user name of cobe5473 and a password of 315476. It will be available to view for 28 days.
We had booked House of an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park for 16th September. Given the ongoing Covid situation, we have cancelled this and will rebook next year.
We had purchased a number of tickets for Strictly Ballroom, a new Craig Revell Horwood production, for 21st May 2021. This has not been advertised yet. This has now been put back to 2022, presumably because the cast cannot rehearse. We will look at rebooking then. We have asked for, and will be getting, our money back.
It may be unlikely that there will be any events this year up to the festive lunches but we will keep that under review. In the meantime, keep safe and we can go to town when all this is over!🥳
